Jointly building an offshore industry finance innovation highland – Suzhou Industrial Park delegation signs a memorandum of cooperation with the Central and Eastern European Center of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University

On June 20, 2025, the Science and Technology Investment Promotion Delegation of Suzhou Industrial Park went to Budapest, Hungary, visited the Central and Eastern Europe Center of the “the Belt and Road” of the Western Jiaotong Liverpool University, and held a cooperation forum. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on scientific and technological innovation, industrial investment promotion, talent introduction, international cooperation and other aspects, signed a memorandum of cooperation, and reached a number of practical cooperation consensus.

Guests attending the symposium include Ni Qian, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park, Geng Jian, the Industrial Dean of the “the Belt and Road” project of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, Zhou Xinjian, the former Economic and Commercial Counselor of China in Hungary, Ma Junkai, the Executive Director of Victor Business School, and representatives of Chinese enterprises and doctoral students investing in Hungary.

During the forum, the Center for Central and Eastern Europe of the “the Belt and Road” project of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University introduced in detail its experience and achievements in promoting in-depth cooperation between Central and Eastern Europe and China in education, science and technology, industry and other fields. The attending guests also had a thorough discussion on the trends of international technological innovation, internationalization of higher education, and the practical needs of Chinese enterprises to “go global”.

The memorandum of cooperation signed this time clarifies the direction of future cooperation between the two parties, focusing on overseas innovation resource links, international talent support, and service enterprises’ “going global”, exploring the establishment of a normalized cooperation mechanism, and injecting new impetus into promoting the international development of Suzhou Industrial Park.

The successful holding of this event not only provides a new channel for enterprises in the park to expand overseas markets, but also opens up a new path for China Hungary innovative cooperation under the “the Belt and Road” initiative. In the future, both sides will take this as an opportunity to continue deepening cooperation and work together to create a more influential platform for industrial and financial innovation cooperation.
