Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce Hungary Representative Office officially unveiled and operates

On September 13, 2025, a delegation from the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce went to Hungary to hold talks at the “SLUGU the Belt and Road Innovation Center” and inaugurated the Hungarian representative office of the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce. This is an important measure to implement the “the Belt and Road” initiative and expand the cooperation map of Central and Eastern Europe. It is also a practical action to promote the integration of industry and education, serve enterprises and internationalize talents.

The unveiling ceremony was held in Hungary’s “SLUGU the Belt and Road Innovation Center”. Yang Dongsheng, Vice President of the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade and President of the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce, led a delegation to attend and deliver a speech. At the meeting, it was announced that Mr. Geng Jian, Chairman of Fengjia International, has been appointed as the Chief Representative of Hungary for the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce. The representative office will coordinate the liaison and services of Chinese funded enterprises in Hungary, actively promote economic and trade cooperation, educational exchanges, and innovative resource docking.

The delegation also paid an in-depth visit to the “SLUGU” the Belt and Road Innovation Center, which aims to promote innovative practices in the integration of industry and education between China and Central and Eastern European countries. As an important platform connecting enterprises, colleges and international markets, the “SLUGU the Belt and Road Center” has accumulated rich experience in innovative education and investment banking.

The establishment of the Hungarian Representative Office of the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce will form a joint force with the the Belt and Road Innovation Center of the “SLUGU”, build a high-level platform for economic, trade and education cooperation, and serve the “going out” of Chinese enterprises and the “introduction” of international scientific and technological achievements. In the future, the representative office will play a role as a bridge and link, continuously promoting the deepening and implementation of China Hungary economic and trade cooperation and the integration of industry and education, and opening up broader development space for enterprises and young talents from both countries.
