The 2026 “the Belt and Road” Innovation Forum on Industry Education Integration was successfully concluded

On May 23, 2026, the 2026 “the Belt and Road” Industry Education Integration Innovation Forum was successfully concluded in Taicang Campus of Xijiao Liverpool University.

On the occasion of the successful convening of the 20th Anniversary High Quality Development Conference of Xijiao Liverpool University, and the university’s efforts to build an international education center with global influence, this forum was jointly sponsored by the Harmonious Management Research Center of the School of Industrialists of Xijiao Liverpool University and the Urban Soft Power Research Institute of Peking University, undertaken by the “the Belt and Road” Business Unit of Xipu School of Industrialists and the SLUGU International Innovation Education Center, closely following the national “the Belt and Road” high-quality development strategy, focusing on three core issues of education innovation, talent training and ecological construction of Chinese enterprises going to sea. Guests from all walks of life of the “industry, education, research and politics society” gathered together to discuss the opportunities and challenges of education in the “new maritime era” and the globalization of Chinese enterprises.

Professor Xi Youmin, Executive President of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, shared the theme with the theme of “Breaking the Future: Innovative Ecology and Integrating Wisdom”, deeply analyzed the changes of the times and the direction of educational innovation, focused on the construction of innovative ecology and cross-border integrated development, provided core guidance for the SLUGU International Innovation Education Center, and highly praised the center’s practical exploration and achievements in the field of “the Belt and Road” industry and education integration.

Professor Geng Jian, the industry director of the “the Belt and Road” Business Department of the School of Industrialists of Xijiao Liverpool University, systematically introduced the concept and practice of innovative education in the “the Belt and Road” industry education integration. The essence of education is to cultivate people, not just to impart knowledge or training tools; In the era of AI, we should focus more on human growth, mental shaping, and life nourishment, developing creativity, critical thinking, human-machine collaboration abilities, and integrating intelligence.

Based on the concept of innovative education, the “the Belt and Road” Business Department of Industrialists College has implemented a number of innovative practices in the field of integration of industry and education:

Establish a research center for Central and Eastern Europe, establish a social responsibility system for Chinese funded overseas enterprises, and assist in the long-term compliance development of Chinese enterprises overseas; Establish the SLUGU International Innovation Education Center and explore innovative models for integrating industry and education; Establish an investment bank science and technology innovation center to provide overseas consulting services, with AIGC Cultural and Creative (Central and Eastern Europe) Center and AI Digital Asset Empowerment Innovation Center under its umbrella; Build an alumni enterprise ecosystem platform for Silk Road University, and create service carriers such as “Science and Technology Innovation Employment Going Global” and “AI Intelligent Industry Training Integration”.

The International Undergraduate Innovative Education Project for Industry and Education Integration is an important achievement of the SLUGU International Innovative Education Center in exploring the “the Belt and Road” international industry and education integration innovation model for Chinese universities, creating a “5+4+1” innovative education ecology: five international innovative courses, four practical innovation platforms, a high-end research ecological platform, building a closed-loop enabling system for the whole chain of “learning practice employment entrepreneurship”, opening the channels from non academic education to academic education, traditional education to industry and education integration education, and fixed campuses to global campuses, and cultivating international talents with family feelings, global vision, AI+industry cognitive foundation, and independent learning ability.

On the forum site, six research achievements on the integration of industry and education of the “the Belt and Road” were released, which made efforts from the cognitive dimension, theoretical innovation, historical perspective, practical path, strategic planning and other dimensions to provide solid academic support and decision-making reference for the high-quality development of the “the Belt and Road”.

At the same time, the “the Belt and Road” industry and education integration ecological platform alliance was officially established, and the innovative education, industry and education integration, and internship and employment integration service platform were built simultaneously, marking the formal formation of the cooperation pattern of “industry, education, research, government and society” collaborative service for Chinese enterprises to go to sea and help personnel training.

The SLUGU International Innovation Education Center will continue to explore the “the Belt and Road” international innovation development model of Chinese universities, build an ecological platform for Chinese enterprises to go to sea, and cultivate more international composite talents with family feelings, new global vision, AI+industry cognitive foundation and independent learning ability, guided by the concept of industry education integration.
