New Forms and Paths of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education – The 2026 Academic Annual Conference of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Branch of the Chinese Society of Higher Education was successfully held in Dalian

On August 22, 2026, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Branch of the Chinese Society of Higher Education held its annual academic conference at Dalian University of Technology. The theme of this conference is “New Forms and Paths of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education”. Wu Shixing, Deputy Director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, and Zhang Daliang, Vice President of the China Association of Higher Education, attended and delivered speeches. Xu Tao, Chairman of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Branch of the China Association of Higher Education, as well as several academicians and representatives from more than 100 universities across the country, attended the conference to conduct in-depth discussions on innovation and entrepreneurship reform in universities, integrated development of industry and education, and opening up of higher education to the outside world.

The conference has set up several parallel thematic forums, among which the “Development of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in China ASEAN Universities under the the Belt and Road Initiative” parallel forum, focusing on cross-border collaborative education and international industry education integration and innovation, is an important thematic link of this annual conference.

Professor Geng Jian, the industrial director of the SLUGU International Innovation Education Center of the “the Belt and Road” Business Department of the School of Industrialists of XJTLU Liverpool University, delivered a theme report entitled “International Ecological Reconstruction and Practice Exploration of Higher Education in the Context of the” the Belt and Road “at the forum. The report systematically combs the construction practice of the Silk Road Silicon Valley International Innovation Education Center of the “the Belt and Road” Business Department of the School of Industrialists of the West Jiaotong Liverpool University, and explains in detail the international innovation model of the integration of industry and education in the Silk Road Silicon Valley. This model connects the entire education industry chain and builds a two-way international education service system: it not only empowers Chinese students to pursue further studies abroad, but also provides channels to support overseas students studying in China. At the same time, it exports international composite talents to Chinese funded enterprises going abroad, solves practical problems such as overseas talent supply and cross-cultural adaptation, shares the construction experience of overseas physical platform layout, self-developed curriculum system, international credit linkage, and industry university research government social cooperation ecology, and provides a practical paradigm for domestic universities to promote two-way international education.

On the scene of this parallel forum, the SLUGU International Innovation Education Center of the “the Belt and Road” Business Unit of Guangxi Normal University, the Industrial College of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University, the Electronic Information Department of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Inner Mongolia Normal University, Guizhou Normal University, Wenzhou Institute of Technology, Guizhou Institute of Technology and other units jointly launched the “Dalian Consensus” of the “the Belt and Road” international education of industry and education integration, innovation and entrepreneurship. “Dalian Consensus” advocates that colleges and universities along the “the Belt and Road” should adhere to openness and collaboration, deepen international cooperation in integration of industry and education, promote joint construction of courses, exchange of credits, exchange of visits between teachers and students, and industrial linkage, jointly cultivate innovative talents with both family and national feelings and global competence, and serve high-quality cultural and talent exchanges along the “the Belt and Road”.

This annual meeting gathers the consensus of national university reform, further broadens the practice path of opening up of China’s higher education, and helps the construction of a powerful educational country and the development of Chinese path to modernization with the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents.
